According to the newly compiled "Zengcheng County Annals: Population Volume", the earliest Hakka to migrate to Zengcheng was Gu Quanwang, the grandfather of Gu Chengzhi, a Jinshi (successful candidate in the highest imperial examination) of the Northern Song Dynasty. Gu Quanwang moved from Heyuan, Guangdong to Fuhe Ancient House in 934.
